In his second season, he improved on those numbers, rushing for 1,168 yards and eight touchdowns, and catching 43 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown.

The details of the incident are disputed, but according to court documents, Mixon punched Molitor in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and suffer multiple facial fractures. Molitor later underwent surgery to repair the damage.


Mixon was initially charged with a misdemeanor for the incident, but eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and received a one-year deferred sentence, 100 hours of community service, and counseling. The incident was captured on surveillance video and was widely circulated on the internet, leading to a public outcry and calls for Mixon to be banned from playing football.


The fallout from the incident has been significant for Mixon. He was not invited to the NFL draft combine in 2017, and several teams reportedly removed him from their draft boards entirely.
